It was ‘six of the best’ for Prescot Cables on the road at Ossett Town in the final pre-Christmas fixture with James Edgar, Josh Klein-Davies & Chris Almond each scoring a brace.
It was Edgar, making his first start since rejoining from Marine, who opened the scoring on eight minutes with a far lost header from an excellent Fernandes cross.
The lead was doubled through Klein-Davies’ fine turn & finish on 17mins and the home sides chances of getting back into the game where dented when Anthony Mackie was dismissed for a dreadful challenge on McNally.
Chris Almond added a third with a fine header from a left wing cross before the break.
Edgar’s second immediately after the restart had Cables 4-0 up, a fine finish at the end of a mazy dribble and he soon had the ball in the net again but was denied the hat trick goal by an offside flag.
Klein-Davies’ second made it 5-0, a brilliant free kick from the edge of the box before the hosts where reduced to nine men, Isaac Assenso dismissed for a second caution. Chris Almonds close range finish completed the scoring.
