Prescot Cables secured a fine away victory but were made to work hard by Droylsden and the elements.
Chris Almond opened the scoring on 11mins latching onto a fine Wynne ball and slotting calmly past Branagan in the Droylsden goal.
Klein-Davies, Cain and Conte had all tested Branagan again before the hosts restored parity against the run of play on 42 minutes, a right wing cross spinning into the top corner of the unfortunate Valter Fernandes.
Daly and Wynne had gone close for the respective sides in the second half before Cables retook the lead, the goal coming in similar fashion to Droylsden’s leveller, Almond’s right wing cross turned into his own net by Shaquille Clarke as he looked to prevent Cain scoring.
There then followed a period of concerted home pressure in which Ben Barnes twice denied Kilheeney whilst Fernandes cleared another effort off the line. Another fantastic Barnes save in a goalmouth scramble on 88 minutes led to the third goal, Cables breaking and Josh Klein-Davies finishing from a tight angle.
Gonzales headed onto the top of the bar in stoppage time for the hosts but it was Cables who took the points.
