The club would like to extend its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Jack Riding, who passed away yesterday (15th August 2018) at the age of 18.
Jack was a member of the Reserve Team squad and had also represented South Liverpool, a promising footballer who was being tipped to move into the first team. He was taken ill whilst playing 5-a-side football on Monday evening. He was a very popular young man who had a bright future ahead of him. Jack’s loss will be keenly felt by his teammates, the club as a whole and by the wider football community.
The club will be dedicating the first teams home fixture with Glossop North End in memory of Jack, a request has been made to carry out a minutes applause before the game.
A Crowdfunding appeal has been set up in an effort to support Jack’s family at this exceptionally difficult time. You can visit the appeal’s webpage by clicking here.
