Prescot Cables claimed their first away win of the season in difficult conditions at Newcastle Town.
Cables took the lead on 11 minutes when Josh Klein-Davies laid the ball back to Morgan Homson-Smith, who beat the goalkeeper with an unstoppable shot from 30 yards.
The visitors extended the lead on 34 mins when a cross from Homson-Smith was misjudged by the Newcastle goalkeeper and went straight into the net.
Prescot went 3-0 up on 42 minutes when Almond scored a penalty.
Newcastle pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time, courtesy of an effort from Taylor.
The second half saw a much tighter game. Newcastle again reduced the arrears with 20 minutes to play and put Prescot under sustained late pressure, although Cables held out to secure the points.
