As has been reported on social media, Prescot Cables striker Chris Almond has won the Golden Boot for the Evo-Stik League West Division, having scored 25 times in League matches and the Integro League Cup.
Chris was also the joint winner of the overall Top Goalscorer award across all three divisions of the League, alongside the Premier Division winners Alistair Waddecar (Bamber Bridge) and James Walshaw (Scarborough Athletic) and the East Division’s leading marksman, Aaron Martin of Brighouse Town.
If the League were looking for a tie-breaker, Chris would almost certainly have the highest ‘Goals per Game Ratio’, given that across all competitions he scored 31 goals in just 36 First Team appearances.
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Chris on this accolade, which is more than deserved given his contribution to the squad this season. At the same time, we congratulate all of the other recipients, each of whom has had a fantastic campaign.
