Prescot Cables Football Club is delighted to announce the appointments of Steve Pilling and Roy Grundy and the club’s new First Team Managers.
Steve and Roy will be familiar to Cables supporters, given that both were part of the coaching staff under Andy Paxton and Brian Richardson. Steve and Roy also have managerial experience in their own right; Steve won two cup competitions while with Atherton Collieries whilst Roy has previously worked at Ashton Athletic and Wigan Robin Park.
The club wishes to build on the successes of the last few seasons and as such feels that by promoting from within we have the best chance of doing so. The aim is for an ‘evolution’ of the squad rather than the ‘revolution’ that so often happens at our level of football.
To support Steve and Roy in their new roles, the club has made an additional appointment. Dom Finnigan joins the coaching staff with immediate effect. Dom is well-known within local football and has a wealth of experience behind him, having worked with Tommy Lawson at both Skelmersdale United and Marine. He is a highly-qualified coach who will strengthen our outstanding coaching team.
We are also pleased to add that Garry Williams will remain at the club in his role as Goalkeeping Coach and a key part of the coaching staff.
We congratulate Steve and Roy on their new roles and offer a warm welcome to Dom; the hard work in preparing for next season starts now!
