The club’s popular matchday programme, The Walloper has received a number of accolades in the annual Soccer Club Swap Shop awards.
The highly-coveted awards have been running for almost three decades and recognise programme excellence at every level of the game.
This season’s competition attracted 568 entries, with Cables’ matchday magazine achieving the following:
- Placed 9th nationally within non-league football
- Highest-ranked Evo-Stik League club across all three divisions
- Highest-ranked club across the seven divisions at Step 4
In an era where clubs are increasingly moving their programmes to a download-only model, Cables is bucking the trend by seeing an increase in programme sales. This is, of course, helped by the fact that average attendances are larger than previously but another key factor is the hard work of the programme team, who strive to fill each issue with original, readable content.
We want to build on this success, so repeat our invitation to regular and occasional readers alike to send the programme team an email telling the team what they like about the programme and, perhaps more importantly, what they don’t like. All feedback is valuable, as it will help us to continue to improve our offer to supporters and our thanks go to everyone who has already got in touch.
