Cables leave themselves too much to do against Ossett United

Ossett United 3 – 2 Prescot Cables

Hassell (2)

Attendance 294

Ossett had plenty of chances in the first half and Tom Greaves made two of those pay off with simple goals in the 19th and 21st minutes for a quick two nil lead.

The game had passed a pitch inspection earlier in the morning and many of the Cables faithful may have been wishing it had a different outcome when Marko Basic’s long strike brushed past Ollie Taylor’s glove and found the back of the net for a third.

Cables found another gear in the second half with the introduction of Cameron Moore and Matty Hamilton.

George Hassall tapped away two quick goals in the 73rd and 75th but it was too little too late.

Ossett very effectively ran down the clock to secure just their second win of the season 3-2.
