Having emerged from three home matches unbeaten and kept clean sheets in all of those fixtures, Prescot Cables will hope to continue their recent improvement in form tomorrow when they travel to Marske United. The trip to North Yorkshire will be the first ever meeting between the clubs.
Marske United are enjoying the most successful era of their history. In the last five seasons, the Seasiders have been Northern League champions twice, runners-up on one occasion and FA Vase semi-finalists. Last season – their first at Step 4 – saw Marske finish 10th in the NPL East Division and reach the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy. Having moved into the North / West Division, United have established themselves as contenders for promotion, particularly if they can make the most of the games in hand they have over most of the clubs around them.
The Form Guide
Cables have now gone more than 270 minutes of match play without conceding a goal and will be looking to make good use of their rediscovered defensive resillience against a side who are unbeaten at home in the NPL North / West Division so far this season. However, Prescot will have to travel to the coast without Aaron Turner, who is suspended following his dismissal last Saturday.
Although Marske United were beaten at Workington last Saturday, they had won their four previous League matches. Their excellent record at Mount Pleasant underlines that they will present a tough challenge for the Pesky Bulls.
Admission on the turnstiles is just £8.00 for adults, £4.00 for concessions and £2.00 for children under the age of 16.
The Supporters Club is running a coach to the game, which will leave at 10:00am sharp from the Hope & Anchor. To check seat availability and book travel, please contact Robbie on 07488 258279.
