A new book has been published today which chronicles the first 50 years of Cables’ history.
A Football Club in Prescot has been written by programme and website contributor Glyn Williams, who has written a number of the Long Reads available on the site. It spans from the formation of Prescot FC in 1884 through to Cables’ first half-decade in the Lancashire Combination.
In addition to outlining how the club performed during its first half-century, the book also includes brief profiles of some early notable players and descriptions of memorable matches.
Priced at just £3..99 in paperback and £3.49 for the Kindle e-book, A Football Club in Prescot is available from Amazon. A preview of the e-book and links from which the book can be ordered are below. When matches with spectators present get back under way, there will also be copies available on matchday from the Club Shop.
