Community

There is more to Prescot Cables than just football! We are proud to be at the heart of not just the town, but the wider community across Knowsley. This page is designed to raise awareness of our activities and those of our colleagues and neighbours.

Community Coffee Morning

We open the doors of our Function Room on alternate Friday mornings so that the people of Prescot can get together for a hot drink and a chat in relaxed, informal surroundings. Just drop in between 11.00am and 1.00pm for a coffee and maybe a cake!

You can check the date of the next coffee morning by visiting our Events Calendar.

Partner Organisations

We are delighted to work with the following local organisations, all of whom make a massive difference locally. We are more than happy to do what we can to support their work.

Alfie Lund Fund
Centre For Access To Football In Europe
Friends of Eaton Street Park
Owen McVeigh Foundation
The Red Box Project

One of our partners is the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE). CAFE is a UEFA social responsibility partner working to promote wider access and inclusion of disabled people using the unique power of football.

Ahead of their recent International Conference in Bilbao, CAFE reached out to fans, employees, players, coaches and advocates to create a video celebrating the varied roles that disabled people can play within football.

The video, which was premiered in front of over 200 delegates from 30 different countries at the Conference, features clips filmed at some of Europe’s largest and most iconic stadiums. It also includes a short clip filmed at Volair Park, with disabled Cables fan Amy Wilson featured.

CAFE Media and Communications Manager, and Cables fan, Mike Rice, said, “The aim of the video is to show that there should be no barriers to stop disabled people from taking their rightful places within the world’s most popular game. We call this Total Football #TotalAccess. It is always great to receive so many varied clips from across Europe, and even better this time to see our own Pesky Bulls featured!”.

You can watch the video at the top of this page, or externally on YouTube.

Tickets for local schools, community groups and organisations

We are more than happy to offer free tickets to League games to local organisations so that those tickets can be offered to local families who might not otherwise be able to experience live football. Please click here for further information about our Family Taster Ticket offer.
